Our Executive Team
From our origins as a small group of passionate film enthusiasts captivated by the horror classics of the 1970s and 1980s, ShadowHouse has always been rooted in a love for cinema.
What began in 1995 as NewGil Video—founded by two high school students in Seattle—quickly evolved into NewGil Pictures, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by 1997. Its mission was to provide opportunities for aspiring filmmakers, supporting both in-house productions and collaborative projects to help bring new stories to life.
In 2012, ShadowHouse Films emerged as a collaborative studio, uniting NewGil Pictures with HighRoad Entertainment, our distribution arm. Together, we built a collective dedicated to independent filmmaking—producing work that is as imaginative as it is impactful.
Today, ShadowHouse Films continues to thrive as an independent studio, committed to creating original stories that inspire, challenge, and entertain audiences.
